OYEZ OYEZ OYEZ! It's October, which means the Supreme Court is back in session and the Rebeccas are digging into some of the history of the Court this month.
Associate Justice of the Supreme Court William O. Douglass is probably one of the most important Supreme Court Justices you probably know nothing about. Appointed by FDR, he remains the longest serving justice in the history of the court, at just over 36 years. Listen about his interesting life, his many controversies, and how he almost single-handedly saved the C&O Canal from turning into a parkway!

(EARLY RELEASE) Planting Seeds: The Washerwomen of Atlanta Strike
Wednesday Sep 13, 2023
Wednesday Sep 13, 2023
The beginning of September marks the end of summer, and though we all enjoy that last 3-day weekend to get those summer plans checked off, it's important to remember the WHY of Labor Day.
Join the Rebeccas as they dive into one of the earliest organized labor strikes, all the more remarkable because it was driven by mostly formerly enslaved women who could largely neither read nor write, just as Jim Crew began to raise its ugly specter on the "New South."

(PATRONS ONLY) Lou Hoover: ”Unexpected Presidential Couple Goals”
Friday Sep 01, 2023
Friday Sep 01, 2023
For the month of August's exclusive PATRONS ONLY pod, join the Rebeccas as they cover a listener-requested subject: the life of the exceptionally fascinating First Lady Lou Hoover
We have to admit, we didn't know much about Lou Hoover before diving into research for this episode, and what was found is truly remarkable. Lou was a woman exceptionally far ahead of her time in many many ways, and was lucky enough to find a husband who really believed and supported her intellect, work, and independence while still remaining quite smitten, which is kind of astonishing for the time period!
Join Becca and Rebecca as we delve into this fascinating woman who, unfortunately, is often erased from mainstream history.
